Kings Drinking Game (aka Ring of Fire Drinking Game) Rules

The kings drinking game is played by first having all participants sit in a circle and have someone shuffle the deck of 52 cards. Traditionally the cards are dealt in a circle around the “kings cup.” With alcoholic beverages at hand, game play begins with the first player taking their turn.

Kings Drinking Game Version I

In this version of the kings drinking game, alcohol can be from individually selected sources or the communal kings cup filled with beer. The game does not rely on the amount of alcohol consumed, however.

On Each Turn

A player draws a card from the top of the non-discarded deck. The player (and possibly others) then performs the action dictated the card’s face. See the table of card instructions below. Discard the card anywhere.

When It Ends

When the last card has been drawn.

Kings Drinking Game Version II

In this variation, the kings cup does not need to be full of alcohol. The drinks are of another sort outside of the cup.

On Each Turn

A player draws a card from the top of the non-discarded deck. The player (and possibly others) then performs the action dictated the card’s face. See the table of card instructions below. Discard the card on top of the kings cup.

When The Game Ends

The game ends when the last card has been discarded OR when the cards on top of the kings cup fall.

Kings Drinking Game Version III

In this variation, the kings cup is the source of the alcohol for most cards drawn. Ensure you use a large cup or glass and fill it up high with your drink of choice.

On Each Turn

A player draws a card from the top of the non-discarded deck. The player (and possibly others) then performs the action dictated the card’s face. See the table of card instructions below. Discard the cards into a pile not atop the kings cup.

When the kings cup has been fully consumed, the game is over. Continue to re-shuffle the deck until this is accomplished.
